During this Coronavirus time!

We are all told to stay in, do not go near others, do not shake hands, do not put hands near our face, eyes, mouth and to wash hands many times an hour.  It is a scary time, the Media (in my humble opinion) has not helps calm people down, but instead seems to take joy in fanning information that is not honest or even correct.  How can I help?

First of all, relaxing your breathing, letting go of fear, and making sure you are getting enough good solid restful sleep, staying hydrated throughout the entire day, cutting back on sugar, exercising many times during the day and for some early in the evening time. Eating a well-balanced diet, taking Vitamin C a few times a day, making sure you are taking a multi-vitamin along with Vitamin B complex.  I like to add Borage Oil or Flaxseed Oil to the supplement program.

Also, writing in a journal and reading it back to yourself moves stress off the body. Take one day at a time.  This is when Hypnosis and Relaxation become important.  I am always here to help.

Common Symptoms of Food Poisoning

Nausea; Vomiting; Diarrhea; Abdominal pain and/or cramping; Fever; General Malaise; these symptoms can come on very suddenly, sometimes within 30 minutes of eating the contaminated foods.

Activated Charcoal:  Take three immediately, then 3 more 5 hours later.  Charcoal will encapsulate the food, and keep it from getting in your intestines causing even more damage to your body.

Recovery: Rest quietly; Drink Water small sips, Spring water or even Gatorade; barley and rice water are helpful, start with plain broth, applesauce, diluted juices.  I would never suggest consuming milk or any dairy products during the first 72 hours after any episode.

EXERCISE!!!!!!

I love training clients, I truly enjoy walking with new clients especially when they feel stuck and bored in their workouts.  There are so many ways to work out, and when I am able to inspire a client to get into a fitness program, it is exciting to see them enjoying life again.  Make time for yourself, walk, run, bike, hike, spin, dance, join Pilates, cross-fit, kick-boxing, swimming.  If you don’t make time for yourself, who will????????

Holiday parties

Try NOT to go hungry to the party, eat before you head out, that way you don’t eat a lot of the high calorie foods; make sure you have food in your stomach before you start drinking; I highly suggest drinking a full glass of water every hour when consuming alcohol; watch out for those Hors d’oeuvres; go easy on the fried foods; get plenty of rest at night before all of the parties. Eat less bread, less cakes, less cookies, less candies and less pasta.  Exercise*Exercise*Exercise!!!!!!

B Vitamins

There are 8 different B vitamins, normally present in a well-balanced diet and are known to be beneficial for metabolism, brain chemistry, immunity and the cardiovascular and nervous systems:

B-1 Thiamine  (oatmeal, peanuts & tofu); B-2 Riboflavin (eggs, milk, lean meats & asparagus); B-3 Niacin (salmon, blueberries & sesame seeds; B-5 Pantothenic Acid (wheat germ, broccoli & shrimp) B-6 Pyridoxine (baked potato in the actual skin; bananas & peas) B-7 Biotin (nuts, cauliflower & mushrooms) B-9 Folic Acid (spinach, oranges, beans & whole grains) B-12 Cobalamin (beef, liver, cooked clams & trout)

Most of us try really hard to eat a well-balanced healthy diet, and we might still be deficient in B Vitamins.  Emotional stress and many metabolic issues can cause various illnesses or even exposure to air pollution or environmental toxins, can lead us to depleted B vitamins.  I do suggest take a B-Complex supplement daily with breakfast.

Best ways to fight the Flu

You need to get adequate sleep, address any emotional issues that might be causing you stress, make sure you wash you hands with soap and water frequently.  If you do feel like you are coming down with the FLU, please stay home.  I would suggest that you use Vitamin C, every four hours and have a lot of OSCILLOCOCCINUM on hand.  Take three the day that you are feeling funky, and use it for 3 more days, then stop.  Dump the capsule under your tongue, and spread the other two out over the entire day.  Drink lots of water.

Some natural ways to get headache relief

Always increase your hydration, drinking spring water, water-rich fruits and vegetables.  Try and stay away from alcohol, carbonated drinks, and caffeinated beverages, as they honestly do dehydrate the body.

I like using ICE PACKS, actually the cold helps reduce inflammation that can contribute to headaches.

You might consider using Peppermint Oil, you can massage it around your forehead, mixing it into face cream or just with almond oil.

If Ice therapy doesn’t work, try heat therapy, heat relaxes muscles fairly fast.

Another essential oil Lavender works great, a few drops into your hand, rub both hands together, and then inhale.

Magnesium:  This is always my go-to tool.  Magnesium deficiency has been linked to headaches.  I like using this to keep the colon clear and it is amazing for pain relief and stress relief.

Go for a walk, a hike, a bike ride.  Exercise on a daily basis keeps headaches away.  30-45 minutes a day is a great way to enjoy life without headaches.

It is always good to see a doctor when the headaches continue.  But make sure you are not eating the foods that cause allergies, which then cause headaches.
