The winds in California have caused many of my clients to call and complain that they feel as though they have a cold. It might actually be allergies, but, just to be safe, I would suggest taking Vitamin C; CO Q10 along with some fresh lime or fresh lemon in water a few times a day. Hot or Cold water with the lemon and/or lime is just fine. How much Vitamin C, most likely 3000-5000 for 4-5 days then just 2000 a day.

Make sure you are drinking water throughout the entire day!
Do you have any of these symptoms?
*Dizziness
*Fatigue
*Mental Fog
*Poor short-term memory
*Irritability
What are all of these symptoms, well, DEHYDRATION, and dehydration is the common theme for Fatigue. Actually, when we don’t drink enough water, our blood volume can decrease. When our blood volume goes down our bodies then need to work way overtime just to get the right amount of oxygen and nutrients to our cells, which tires us out in a big hurry. Therefore, you can fight the above listed symptoms by drinking plenty of water from the time you wake up to the time you go to sleep.
Herbal Teas
I often get asked which tea might work for various health related issues:
Rosemary Tea: Seems to work well for Headaches
Valerian Tea: Works good for insomnia and anxiety
Peppermint, Chamomile and even Ginger Tea: Eases stomach distress and helps with digestive issues
White Willow Bark Tea: This tea seems to relieve pain in the same way aspirin would, but without the stomach irritation.
Vertigo
My mom suffers from Vertigo at least 2-3 times a year. She ends up in bed for many days. It is the Calcium Crystals in the ear seem to move and cause the vertigo. There are a few ways to attempt to get the Crystals back in place. First is to always drink enough water throughout the day, every day. Learn the Epley Maneuver, that involves lying down, turning the head 90 degrees away from the ear with the problem, then you need to turn the entire body in that direction. If this maneuver is done at least 3 times nightly until Vertigo goes away, normally relief is found. There is another maneuver called Semont, which is very similar, however, it involves changing the direction of one’s position rather than rolling over. There are U Tube videos that are extremely helpful. The last one is Foster Maneuver, this one is tough, it involves touching the head to the floor, then turning in the direction of the affected ear, then rising up quickly. This one can bring on severe nausea.

The truth about WHOLE GRAINS
Some of the biggest whole grain offenders include: BREAD, PASTA, CEREALS, CRACKERS, MUFFINS, DESSERTS, FLOURS, CHIPS AND GRANOLA BARS.
Unfortunately, most grains are the Number One offenders when it comes to ruining your metabolism and stopping your weight loss efforts.
So what should you do? Well, you might want to consider replacing your grains with vegetables and some fresh fruits. Try using sprouted grains, like Ezekiel bread or even sourdough bread.
Remember, the 3 compounds in grains that harm our system are GLUTEN, STARCH AND PHYTIC ACID. Gluten does cause inflammation, which unfortunately is the culprit of all diseases. Starch turns into Sugar, and phytic acid binds with minerals which means you won’t be able to use vital minerals. Bottom line is whole grains can harm your metabolism.
Fruit juices are filled with Sugar!
People often ask me my opinion of FRUIT JUICE! Way too much Sugar! One 8 ounce glass of fruit juice contains 30 grams of sugar, while Soda (which is also bad for us) contains 28 grams of sugar. Yes, Apple Juice/Grape Juice/Cranberry Juice, they are all full of sugar. Pure Cranberry has no sugar, that is what we use in my field for Bladder issues. So what should you do if you must drink fruit juices, only use 1/2 the amount and mix with pure water. Also, read the labels, try really hard to AVOID the juices that had added corn syrup, dextrose, maltodextrin. Best is to make your OWN homemade juice, by mixing real fresh lemons with water with some stevia. But my best recommondation is to drink coconut water which is the best alternative to the junk in Gatorade.
