B Vitamins

There are 8 different B vitamins, normally present in a well-balanced diet and are known to be beneficial for metabolism, brain chemistry, immunity and the cardiovascular and nervous systems:

B-1 Thiamine  (oatmeal, peanuts & tofu); B-2 Riboflavin (eggs, milk, lean meats & asparagus); B-3 Niacin (salmon, blueberries & sesame seeds; B-5 Pantothenic Acid (wheat germ, broccoli & shrimp) B-6 Pyridoxine (baked potato in the actual skin; bananas & peas) B-7 Biotin (nuts, cauliflower & mushrooms) B-9 Folic Acid (spinach, oranges, beans & whole grains) B-12 Cobalamin (beef, liver, cooked clams & trout)

Most of us try really hard to eat a well-balanced healthy diet, and we might still be deficient in B Vitamins.  Emotional stress and many metabolic issues can cause various illnesses or even exposure to air pollution or environmental toxins, can lead us to depleted B vitamins.  I do suggest take a B-Complex supplement daily with breakfast.

Best ways to fight the Flu

You need to get adequate sleep, address any emotional issues that might be causing you stress, make sure you wash you hands with soap and water frequently.  If you do feel like you are coming down with the FLU, please stay home.  I would suggest that you use Vitamin C, every four hours and have a lot of OSCILLOCOCCINUM on hand.  Take three the day that you are feeling funky, and use it for 3 more days, then stop.  Dump the capsule under your tongue, and spread the other two out over the entire day.  Drink lots of water.

Some natural ways to get headache relief

Always increase your hydration, drinking spring water, water-rich fruits and vegetables.  Try and stay away from alcohol, carbonated drinks, and caffeinated beverages, as they honestly do dehydrate the body.

I like using ICE PACKS, actually the cold helps reduce inflammation that can contribute to headaches.

You might consider using Peppermint Oil, you can massage it around your forehead, mixing it into face cream or just with almond oil.

If Ice therapy doesn’t work, try heat therapy, heat relaxes muscles fairly fast.

Another essential oil Lavender works great, a few drops into your hand, rub both hands together, and then inhale.

Magnesium:  This is always my go-to tool.  Magnesium deficiency has been linked to headaches.  I like using this to keep the colon clear and it is amazing for pain relief and stress relief.

Go for a walk, a hike, a bike ride.  Exercise on a daily basis keeps headaches away.  30-45 minutes a day is a great way to enjoy life without headaches.

It is always good to see a doctor when the headaches continue.  But make sure you are not eating the foods that cause allergies, which then cause headaches.

Always here to answer your questions!

What to do about hearing loss?

Vitamin A is one of the best supplements to help hearing loss.  Where do we find Vitamin A in foods?  Sweet potatoes, carrots, dark leafy greens, all winter squash, romaine lettuce, dried apricots (no preservatives, and no coloring added), cantaloupe, bell peppers, fish, liver and all tropical fruits.

Magnesium, Vitamin C and also Vitamin E.

Magnesium rich foods:  all fruits and vegetables, such as bananas, spinach, tomatoes, broccoli and artichokes.

Most important is to always protect your hearing around loud music and loud noise.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

People often ask me what is the big deal with ACV.  Works great with Athlete’s Foot, simply soak a cloth ball in the ACV and apply it to the entire foot twice a day.  Allow the ACV to dry before you put your socks and shoes on.

Acne:  Apply a solution of ACV and water; 2 tablespoons to eight ounces of water with a cloth or cotton balls; do this several times a day.  This will definitely help reduce any infection and will also dry out the inflammation

ACV makes the body more Alkaline.

Do you have Candida?

Jarrow Dophilus regularCandida is unfriendly bacteria that challenges the body, and can make our immune systems weak.  If you answer yes to 2 or more of the questions below, you might want to consider a detox:

Are you taking birth control pills or hormones?  Do you crave sugar?

Do you wake up feeling ill?  Is your tongue coated WHITE?  Do you drink alcohol?

Do you crave bread?  Do you have a fungus on your feet or other body parts?

Is your concentration not so good lately?

if you have answered yes, I would suggest that you stick to a diet that is only clean, lean proteins, and vegetables.  Lots of water.  And, take friendly bacteria morning and night for at least 10 days.  Then just every other day.  I like Jarrow Dophilus & FOS.  Must be kept cold at all times.  3 in the morning on an empty stomach, and 3 at night before bed.

Magnesium Oxide

This is one of my favorites!!!! I like to use this for discomfort (pain); constipation; and over all balance of minerals.  In general terms, magnesium supplements are well tolerated and absorbed.  There are some drugs that do interfere with magnesium absorption, they are diuretics, insulin and digitalis.  People with kidney disease or severe heart disease SHOULD NOT TAKE MAGNESIUM SUPPLEMENTS UNLESS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A PHYSICIAN.

Deficiency symptoms: Muscle cramps; menstrual cramps; PMS; sugar cravings; fatigue; nervousness; anemia; anxiety; facial tics; hypoglycemia; hyperactivity (especially in children); high blood pressure; poor circulation & kidney stones.  If you have any of these symptoms, please discuss them with your doctors.

Feeling under the weather???

Time to detox, and it is not complicated to start a simple detox program.  Simply start your mornings with warm or hot water with fresh lemon squeezed into the water, relax and drink it down.  Wait 30 minutes to eat breakfast and try and use the water/lemon during the day once more.

Try not to drink alcohol and try and cut down all simple carbohydrates.  You will feel a lot better if you indulgence in loads of fresh green vegetables and fresh fruits.

Ways to improve your eyesight:

Eyesight Health: Try eating more of the following foods: Fish; Leafy greens (spinach, kale,& collard greens); Broccolli; Peas; Avocados these are high in Lutein and Zeaxanthin; Whole Grains; Citrus fruits and Berries; Sunflower seeds; Almonds; Walnuts; Pistachios; Fish oil; Flaxseed oil; Black Currant Seed oil; and Beef! Beef In moderation, YES, lean beef in your diet can boost your eye health. Beef contains zinc, which helps your body absorb vitamin A and may play a role in reducing risk of advanced age-related macular degeneration. I don’t suggest beef for Blood types A and Blood types A/B. also the best supplement besides the oils is Lutein!
